Lil BUB
Limited Edition Product Design, Illustration & Fundraising Collaboration

Lil BUB was a one-of-a-kind cat whose online presence helped raise awareness and financial support for animals with special needs through Lil BUB's Big FUND.

I collaborated on several limited-edition projects that combined ceramics, illustration, graphic design, and fundraising to celebrate BUB’s life while supporting animal welfare initiatives connected to her mission.

One of the central projects was the creation of 150 commemorative porcelain wall plates released following BUB’s passing in 2019. The pieces combined hand-crafted ceramics with custom illustration and image-transfer techniques developed within my porcelain practice. Each plate was slip-cast from original molds, hand-finished individually, and fired multiple times to permanently fuse the imagery into the glazed surface.

In addition to the memorial plates, I designed and produced a limited edition series of miniature “wee tea cups” created for Lil BUB’s third birthday, with all proceeds benefiting ASPCA initiatives supporting animals with special needs. The collaboration raised over $6,000 for charity.

I also designed and illustrated a limited-edition calendar featuring custom hand-lettering and original illustrations created specifically for the project. A portion of the proceeds from the sold-out calendars was donated to support ongoing animal care efforts connected to Lil BUB’s Big FUND.

The collaboration brought together multiple aspects of my practice — ceramics, illustration, design, production, storytelling, and small-batch product development — while supporting a cause centered around care, visibility, and advocacy for animals needing extra support.
